Deputy Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum says the double intake education system which is yet to be introduced under the Free SHS programme will be packed with opportunities.
“The double-track system is a pack of opportunities for our generation” he said in an interview with Angel TV.
According to him, over the years, the existence of a cut-off point for students who are admitted into Secondary schools has deprived many students who couldn’t afford private schools.
“The introduction of this system will solve all these problems by admitting more students without conditions” he said, adding that, “the double intake system may last for 5 to 7 years and this will expand infrastructure to accommodate more students”.
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum also noted that government is going to introduce a national assessment measure to assess students in order to solve the problem of assessment after 11 years.
