Education Minister Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh and colleague Minister of Information Mustapha Hamid have said “Ghana is a difficult country to govern.”
They made the comments separately at Thursday’s Meet The Press event at which the Dr Prempeh briefed journalists about the progress of the Free Senior High School policy.
Answering a question from a journalist concerning a school with deplorable ICT facilities, Dr Prempeh said: “There is a programme to equip, where we build schools, to equip them with ICT labs. I don’t know how you can equip ICT labs without furniture, but it just happened that we are the same Ghanaians who are given the contracts to equip the schools and we are the same Ghanaians who will take the money and never do the work.”
“We are the same Ghanaians who will rush to the minister for more contracts but don’t want to be punished.
“The president visited Okuapeman Senior High School and the headmaster’s plea was to have a science laboratory refitted. When we came to check, the contractor had been paid 100 per cent of the money. When the contractor was called, he said they took the money and went to do another school.
“Ghanaians are very difficult to govern. If you touch that contractor now, you will see a line of people in the office pleading on his behalf,” he said.

You are the same politician who promise them jobs but today look at what you telling. Let your supervision be strong on them when you give them contract and you see they will work on time.
Npp did not change their attitude when they were in opposition but today preaching like the Gospel.
I now understand why Ghana is difficult to govern...most of the people commenting did not even read the text or if they did then didn't understand. It looks like comments are based on headlines instead of the contest which the minister commented. Oh Ghana...I am not surprise why Ghana is bleeding ...even on this platform some people thinks its OK for individuals to chop Ghana money and go free...how on earth will any one be given money to do A and turn around to do B, Jesus Christ.!! And look at people rather insulting the Minister, lol...are we serious humans at all?
OH NOW YOU KNOW. I THOUGHT YOU HAD THE MAGIC TOUCH THAT WILL MAKE THE COUNTRY RICH OVER NIGHT. MR. MINISTER, YOU CAN CONSULT BAWUMIAH, HE HAS THE KNOWHOW. MR KNOW ALL BAWUMIAH
minister stop the insult and face the reality.
his nose is bigger than his brain.
hmmm now we are confessing, when ex president said to then opposition party that they should stop complaining about everything he does because they are not near to the presidency then people start insulting him. Hmmm challie guys its not easy oooo. My plea is that we should mind the way we criticize others when we are not in that position.
you took the wind out of my sail. you lie you way to power and saying what . You ain't see nothing yet
WELL SAID MINISTER,THAT IS A FACT. CHANGE OUR ATTITUDES AND WE WILL ALL SEE THE GHANA GOD CREATED FOR US.

Their only interest is just to pass exams become professionals as journalists, lawyers, Accountants, politicians etc
