The Head of Communication and Public Affairs at the Ministry of Energy, Nana Kofi Oppong Damoah has said his outfit can conclude that some saboteurs used corrosive substances to hack down one of the pylons of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo).
The hacked pylon, near the head office of GRIDCo, which transmits power from Karpower and AKSA to the national grid, he noted, was installed seven months ago.
Speaking in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ , Mr Damoah said the bolts and nuts holding one of the pylons together had been removed after what appears to be consistent bathing of portions of it with a corrosive substance.
He said the police is currently investigating the issue.
