Ghana is a quintessential lawless country. From the top to the bottom, the people, especially the ‘big men’ do not obey the laws, regulations or directives of the land.
Ghana Education Service has on numerous times said that it has ban all forms of corporal punishments, which mostly are plain abuse of students, at primary and secondary schools in Ghana.
In fact, even in the absence of this ban, what is done to Ghanaian students in the name of punishment cannot be justified within the borders of reason. Teachers subject students to degrees of abuse, in the name of punishment.
AfricaCelebrities.Com and GhanaCelebrities.Com have obtained a shocking video which shows a teacher beating the hell out to students of Prempeh College in Kumasi—all in the name of discipline.
The person doing the whipping, we mean the obvious abuse, is allegedly the assistant headteacher (Administration) of Prempeh College, Mr. Gyimah.
If this is how a whole headteacher treats students and flouts GES’ directive or ban on corporal punishment, how would he be able to ensure that other teaches do not do the same?
In any civilized society, this is enough evidence to pull the sack on this man.

I just do not know what the publisher seeks to achieve. If this is wrong then, trust me what was done to me when I was in technology secondary form 4 will be called assassination. This is why we have all these kids with no moral and good life around all because of those so called human rights. But by bits Ghana will go bunkers so when we stop the beating of children. So we will have students drawing pistol on teachers.
So you call this news, abuse of what form mtcweeeeew. Publicise how poor our roads and how corrupt our leaders are.
Assistant Headteacher of Prempeh College Caught on Tape Abusing Students, ***barred word*** do you call this an abuse, do you know their crime,Spare the rod spoil the child.
There are reasons why some schools have remained the best over the years. Extreme corporal punishment is not good. But I tell you, this is what made the best out of the boys that graduate from Sofoline. I am an old student and I can tell you for a fact that, morality and discipline has evaded many children because of these so called human rights directives. Sometimes sparing the rod will not only spoil the child but destroy him. I have been a teacher in a private school in Accra for 3 years prior to 2010 and there is a clear difference between the batch of students who had the rod closer to them and the others. These kids are now graduates of the various tertiary institutions this year and last year and are grateful for us not allowing the rod to be far from them. As an Amanfo), I will not say yes to slapping and other forms of abuse but caning is a necessary tool. And I have empirical evidence to that school of thought.
