The Institute of International Education (IIE) is to honour President John Evans Mills as the first ever Fulbright Scholar to become President of a Republic.
He will be honoured in September next year when he returns to New York to be part of the United Nations General Assemblies.
The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Institute, Dr. Allan Goodman made this known when he met with the President on Monday in New York. Dr. Goodman congratulated President Mills for his elevation to the very-high office as President of Ghana and also for making the Institute proud.
He said President Mills� strong resolve to build a Better Ghana in a very politically accommodating manner, is worthy of emulation.
President Mills appreciated the quality education that the Fulbright Fellowship gave him. He said his education at Stanford has played a pivotal role in getting him to the height that he has reached.
He expressed appreciation for the impact of US education on Ghanaians and humbly accepted to be honoured by the Institute.
