The Minister of the Interior has renewed the curfew imposed on Nakpanduri and its environs, including Kpatritinga, Bonbila, Borgni Boatarrigu, and Sakogu communities with effect from Friday, February 27, 2015.
This was on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument.
A statement signed by Mr Mark Owen Woyongo, Sector Minister, said the curfew period is from 10:00pm to 4:00am.
In the statement government urged chiefs, opinion leaders, youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Nakpanduri Township and environs including Kpatritinga, Bonbila, Borgni Boatarrigu and Sakogu communities from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
