"The child I was carrying is my grandchild. Her mother was raped and she is suffering psychologically and so I am the one who has been taking care of the child. I needed money to provide for my family and that was why I went to the bank," said Patience Osafo, woman who was assaulted by a Police officer at Midland Savings and Loans.
Patience Osafo, a mother of two and 36 years of age, told UTV's Agya Kwabena that her firstborn is a girl who is 17 years old and the second one is 9 years old.
Her 17-year-old daughter is also epileptic
Her firstborn, the epileptic girl, was raped at the age of 16 and the baby she was holding in the video is her grandchild, who is about 2 months and some weeks old.
According to her, she is a petty trader who sells candies at Spanner (the footbridge at the Accra Mall) and started saving with the Midland Savings and Loans two months ago, with hopes of getting a loan from them in the future to be able to expand her business.
She was sharing her story in an exclusive interview on UTV Friday night.
