Kwesi Pratt Jnr, Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, has called on Human Rights Activists in the country to speak against the use of children in political adverts in the country.
Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Kwesi Pratt asked the Rights' Activists to safeguard children and ensure that politicians do not exploit them to advance their political courses and ambitions.
Mr. Pratt criticized politicians who have made it their agenda to use children in their political ads, claiming that such practices are an abuse of the children's rights.
Kwesi Pratt was reacting to videos of some school children hooting at President John Mahama for failing to resolve the power crises in the country during the recently-held "Won Gbo".
On the tape, the school children are heard shouting "dumsor - Mahama" and casting insinuations on the President.
Mr. Pratt found it appalling and has therefore called on State authorities to investigate the issue and because "if it is indeed true that such things happened, it will amount to abuse of children…We, the political parties, have admitted that the use of children in adverts should stop. We have all accepted.”
