As the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] prepares towards its November 7, primaries – pressure seems to be mounting in the constituency occupied by one of Ghana’s long serving Member of Parliament, Hon E. T. Mensah.
The Ningo-Prampram constituency parliamentary seat will be contested by – the ‘Mugabe” of the area, Hon E.T. Mensah, with Michael Kwetey Tetteh as ET’s main contender and Sam George, who has been described as a “stranger” in the community.
It is believed that the Presidential staffer - Sam George is not gaining much approval in the constituency and has thus allegedly resorted to launching series of attacks on his opponents in the media to gain publicity ahead of the election.
Sam George recently told E.T. Mensah that the Ningo-Prampram seat – “Does not belong to E.T. Mensah,” adding that – “It is not hereditary for the Mensah family”.
Again - on Accra based Asempa FM, Sam George reportedly described his other opponent, Michael Kwetey Tetteh as a “small boy” – adding that – “he should go home and sleep because election is not a game for minors.”
In rebuttal - Michael Kwetey Tetteh has maintained that he is more matured in politics than Sam George – “That guy is just an errand boy at the Flagstaff House”.
Speaking on OKAY FM’s morning show "Ade Akye Abia", the aspiring Ningo-Prampram NDC MP advised Sam George to “check himself” before tagging him as a ‘small boy’ in politics – “Sam is very funny. I am married with five [5] kids. Sam married three years ago but still living with his dogs as his kids”.
The Ningo-Prampram MP further stated that – “I will be shocked if he [Sam George] is approved to contest because he is not a Ghanaian”.
He however called on the constituency and national executives to “implant some sense” in Sam George’s head or – “I will match him boot for boot”
