On Wednesday the 7th of October, 2015 The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party met at the Party's Headquarters to deliberate on a variety of issues including preparations towards National Delegates’ Congress.
Chief among the decisions taken at the meeting is the rescheduling of the National Delegates’ Congress from October 9th-11th, 2015 to November 27th – 29th, 2015.
The decision was taken to enable outstanding conferences in some Regions to be organised before or on October 30th, 2015 as these form a very crucial part of the processes towards the National Delegates' Congress.
Consequently, NEC approved that Nomination for National Executive positions to be opened on 2nd November 2015 and closed on November 7th, 2015.
Vetting for all aspirants would take place between November 9th-12th, 2015. Also, NEC formed various committees that would superintend and organise the activities leading up to Congress were all formed.
These committees include:
1. Congress Committee
2. Vetting Committee
3. Elections/Nomination Committee,
4. Constitutional Review Committee and
5. Protocol/Accreditation Committee.
Furthermore, NEC has directed the Northern Regional Secretariat of the Party to re-open regional nominations for a three-day period commencing Thursday October 8 to Saturday October 10th, 2015.
NEC also approved five hundred Ghana cedis (GHC 500.00) as filing fees for Parliamentary primaries.
It is the expectation of NEC that all stakeholders in this process would take keen interest in these decisions and work assiduously to put the party on a sound footing going into Election 2016.
Signed
Bernard Mornah
General Secretary
