Mr Alan Kyerematen has not resigned from the Akufo-Addo government as Minister of Trade and Industry as rumoured on social media, close associates of his have confirmed.
One of them, Barima Sarpong, took to social media to diffuse the rumour.
The presidency have also said they do not know of any such thing, saying Mr Kyeremanten is currently representing President Nana Akufo-Addo on an official assignment in Turkey.
Among other reasons, Mr Kyerematen’s rumoured resignation was linked to speculations that he has been affected by President Akufo-Addo’s impending reshuffle of his ministers.
However, Barima Sarpong told Classfmonline.com that “it’s not true”.
Another close associate of Mr Kyerematen, who pleaded anonymity also debunked the rumour.
He said Mr Kyerematen would be back home tomorrow, Thursday, 9 August from his Turkey trip.
