Uneasy Calm At Ningo Prampram, Sam George Warned To Be Mindful Of His Utterances

NDC Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Sam George, has been asked to be mindful of his words.

A defeated aspirant in the just ended parliamentary primary for the Ningo Prampram seat, Mr. Michael Tetteh, believes the utterances of the NDC MP "may further deepen and divide the party if proper care is not taken".

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia program, he noted that it is about time, Sam George rallies the support of every to ensure victory in 2020.

"The constituency has been divided after the primaries but I have asked my supporters to remain calm and work for the good of the presidential candidate, John Mahama....

"So I urge my friend and brother Sam George to be very careful of his utterances which I believe if not checked will divide the constituency," he stated.

He posited that though he had been treated unfairly by the party even at the National level; he still has the interestpof the NDC at heart.

"I will urge my brother Sam George to stop making empty noise and bring all of us together for elections 2020," he added.

Certified results declared by Mr. Charles Botchey Jnr, the Electoral Commission official gave Mr. Samuel Nartey George 407 votes as against 400 votes obtained by Mr. Micheal Kwetey Tetteh. Two ballots were rejected.

A total of 809 delegates from 89 out of the 93 branches took part in the elections.

Ningo-Prampram Constituency bears the tag of being a political hot spot and to preempt any electoral violence, the District Security Committee headed by the DCE, Mr. Jonathan Doku deployed close to 100 police personnel drawn from the Police Headquarters, Tema Police Command and the Prampram Police Division to oversee the security arrangements on the ground.

As part of its strategy to ensure the safety and security of the elections, the DISEC also beefed up security with Military deployment from 5BN Burma Camp and 1BN Michel Camp who were deployed on the outskirts of the town.
