Celebee Chases His Dream Of Making Music

Back in 2006 at the Aggrey Memorial Secondary School where he performed for his colleagues at entertainment programmes, Celebee knew he wanted to pursue music professionally.

He, however, had to put that ambition on hold to satisfy his parents’ quest for him to pursue higher education.

And after almost a decade of abandoning music to earn a Diploma in Agriculture at the College of Tropical Agriculture in Kumasi in 2011 and a degree from the Presby University College last year, the Takoradi-based artiste is back to chasing his passion.

In a chat with Showbiz on Monday about his projects and plans to compete in the choked industry, Celebee said he is ready to take his place.

“I have no regrets waiting for almost a decade or even more to do this. Now that I’m done with schooling to please all parties, I have every blessing and backing to succeed in the new path I have chosen,” he said.

In 2014, Celebee, whose real name is Wilson Acquah, decided to test the waters and released two tracks, Odo and Slow Me Down produced by Taswell in 2014. He also came out with other songs which he said were just for fun.

Presently, he is promoting Me Den You produced by BBM after Telephone which came out earlier this year.

Me Den You is a piece about how haters love to seek your downfall and he cautions his detractors not to wish for his downfall. It is also about love and he assures his woman of his commitment to stay by her even in difficult times.

Anyone will appreciate Celebee’s use of Twi, Fante and Pidgin on the Hiplife track but it appears he will need more confidence in the game.
“This is just the beginning so I will appreciate all the criticisms. It will help to shape my talent and works. All the same, I’m happy about the comments and will work on where I fall short,“ he said.

To build a solid fan base, Celebee has created the CelebNation to push his music. When not in the studios, Celebee works as an Agric Extension Officer at the Ghana Rubber Estates Limited.
