President Dramani Mahama as part of a strategy to win the support of movie makers in the local industry has given assurances of footing the hospital bills of the aged especially those in the Kumawood industry.
He has also promised to give them a bus to aid their travels to movie locations.
Disclosing this during an interaction with the Kumasi -based actors, actresses and producers on Wednesday in Kumasi, the president said he has allocated a budget of two million Ghana cedis for their workshops and capacity building.
The gesture he revealed, is part of a plan to build their capacity and to ensure that they develop the enthusiasm in the industry.
Confirming this to Ultimatefmonline.com, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) Ola Michael explained that the president encouraged the movie makers to continue their good works.
‘I love Kumawood movies, I watch your movies when I travel outside the country and within the country,’ President Mahama said.
