Head coach Ertugrul Saglam could be sending signals that the experienced forward will not feature in his plans.
Gyan is determined to roll back the years after shaking off his injury worries which restricted him to 12 appearances last season.
His countryman and fellow Ghana international Bernard Mensah lasted the entire duration.
