Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko George Amoako has revealed receiving 27 applications for the vacant coaching job.
The Kumasi-based giants are in the hunt for a substantive coach following the resignation of Paa Kwesi Fabin last week.
The club has since set up a technical group to sieve through the applications and make a shortlist.
Reports are however rife that the club is concluding talks with former Ghana captain Charles Akonnor for the job.
The club’s CEO has however confirmed the enormous interest in the job as he revealed 27 applications have been received with only three coming from local coaches.
“I have received 27 Coaching CVs for the Kotoko coaching job,” he told Happy FM.
“By 1st October we will outdoor our new coach. 24 out of the 27 applications received are foreigners.”
