The National Sports Authority (NSA), has congratulated Kumasi Asante Kotoko for the gallant performance they put up in the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Confederation Cup competition.
A statement signed by Mr. Charles Obeng Amofah, Ag. Public Relations Officer of the NSA said it is refreshing to note that for the first time in over a decade, a Ghanaian club was able to reach the group stage of this prestigious tournament, even in the absence of any competitive football in the country.
It said the NSA also congratulates fans of Kotoko, who exhibited the “Kum Apem A Apem Be Ba” spirit by trooping to the Baba Yara stadium in their numbers to support their darling club, which resulted in a record spectator attendance.
The statement said, a key beneficiary of this campaign is the Baba Yara Stadium and the NSA in general, without which preparations towards improving the state of the facility would have been a challenge financially.
“Once again we say “ayekoo” to the management, playing body and the teaming fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and to wish them well in their next campaign” it added.
