Gomoa Central NDC Elect New Executives: Rachel Appoh�s Men Come on Board

The Gomoa Central Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected new party executives last Friday. The positions challenged for were; Chairman of the constituency, Vice chairman, Youth Organizer, Deputy Youth Organizer, Women�s Organizer, Deputy Women�s Organizer, Propaganda Secretary, Organiser, Treasurer, Deputy Constituency Secretary, Secretary. The occasion was witnessed by Member of Parliament [MP] for Gomoa Central and former Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Rachel Florence Appoh. The election which was supervised by a representative from the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) saw delegates casting their ballots peacefully. At the end of the non violent process, Derrick Mbir polled 113 votes to be the chairman of the Gomoa Central constituency and his main contender Kofi Afful polling 118 to be his vice chairman. The others are Constituency Organizer, John K. Gyesi who polled 152 votes with his Deputy Emmanuel Akomprah polling 123 votes. Emmanuel Akyer had 115 votes to emerge as the Propaganda Secretary, with Nana K. Ehuren getting 127 to come out as the Deputy Propaganda Secretary. Godfred Koomson became Treasurer with 145 votes while Salamat Ketu became Deputy Treasurer with 123 votes. Other members who got elected are; Secretary, Moses Jehu Appiah with 139 votes, Emmanuel K. Essuman had 123 votes as Deputy Secretary; Youth Organizer, James Aboagye amassing 37 votes, while Ali Haruna got 35 votes to be the Deputy Youth Organizer; Alice Mensah became the Women�s Organizer with 38 votes and Dorcas Acquah polled 34 votes to become the Deputy Women�s Organizer. The newly elected executives led by their Chairman vowed that their aim now is to retain the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat for the NDC and ensure victory for President John Dramani Mahama in the 2016 general elections.
