NPP MP Refutes Allegations

The Member of Parliament for the Manhyia North Constituency has categorically denied allegations that he is master-minding the organisation of members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region to demonstrate against the siege on the partys national head office. According to Collins Owusu Amankwah, though many party supporters in the region are not happy with the events which brought about a press conference being held at the national headquarters to an abrupt end, he is not planning to bus anyone or group of persons to demonstrate in Accra. It was not true that I am doing any such thing but what I can tell you is that people are boiling up deep down and are not comfortable with the way and manner certain elements in the party want to overrun the Chairman and General Secretary. We have given them a four-year mandate to deliver victory for us so we must allow them to do their work, he appealed. To him, the General Secretary of any party is the face of that political establishment and any attack on him is an attack on the entire political party. If you think you are attacking Kwabena Agyepong by mudslinging him, what you are doing is rather soiling the name of the party.why cant we give them the same support we gave Sir John and Jake? the Manhyia North MP told NEAT FM. He made this appeal during a response to a claim that he is facilitating the transportation of a group of party supporters to Accra to stage a series of demonstrations against the attack at the NPP head office early last week.
