NPP Ashanti Regional Organizer Resigns

The Ashanti Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Kankam has resigned as the regional organizer for the region.

According to him, he has served the party for a very long time and for that matter needs to move ahead for greater positions in the party.

Kennedy Kankam will be contesting the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) at Nhyiaeso constituency, Dr. Richard Anane in the parliamentary primaries.

Asked why he resigned, he explained that strange issues are happening in his constituency, which he is not happy about though he refused to mention what might have pushed him to resign.

“I am not happy about some things happening in the constituency that is why I have decided to resign.

“..And resigning does not mean I have left the party, I am rather heading to the higher position of being an MP” he stated on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Thursday.

Meanwhile the party has opened nominations for its parliamentary elections.

In a press release signed by the party’s General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong sets May 24th as the date for organizing Parliamentary primaries throughout the country.

Asked whether he can make it to the Nhyiaeso constituency as MP he noted that “I have really helped my party and so I just needed to move on and represent the people of Nhyiaeso”.
