AUDIO: NPP Chair Paul Afoko Refused To Convene The Meeting Freddie Blay

A Steering Committee Meeting of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) organized by the First National Vice Chairman, Freddie Blay is stirring controversy in the party.

Some members of the party do not understand why Paul Afoko, the National Chairman and Kwabena Agyepong, the General Secretary were not part of the meeting and others have even accused Freddie Blay of plotting a coup.

But speaking in an interview on PEACE FM's morning show ‘Kokooko’, Freddie Blay said the two executives were aware of the meeting and that he was not plotting a coup.

According to him, he “informed the General Secretary of the meeting through whatsapp but he said he was attending his Mother-in-law’s funeral at Nkoranza” and Paul Afoko “was also out of the country and we could not wait for them…

However, speaking in an interview on Joy FM, Kwabena Agyepong indicated that he was not aware of the meeting and that he was "eating fufu in Kumasi”.

I don’t want to put emphasis on what he said; it is between him and those he was speaking to but I sent him a message and he replied…” Freddie Blay said.

The First Vice Chairman also disclosed that before Paul Afoko travelled, the executives had asked him to convene a meeting; “but he refused…and he went away…we asked him to convene a meeting to discuss emergency matters; but it was ignored and he went away. We cannot say everything on air…
