Im not Leading A Palace Coup Sammi Awuku

National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has debunked claims he is leading a mob to demand the resignation of their National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong.

According to Samuel Awuku, a statement being circulated in the media asking party members to amass to the party headquarters should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

Some aggrieved party members stormed the National headquarters in Accra allegedly on the instructions of the youth leader to demand the immediate resignation of their Chairman and General Secretary following the death of their Upper East regional chairman, Adams Mahama.

The demonstrators calm the two leaders orchestrated the acid attack on the late Upper East regional chairman leading to his death.

But to set the records straight, Sammy Awuku on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday said he has no hand in such a statement.

He believes the misleading statement is part of a ploy by some ‘evil people’ who want to take advantage of the volatile situation to cause confusion in the party.

The NPP youth leader expressed shock at how some people can take advantage of such a sad situation to foment trouble.

Sammy Awuku appealed for calm as the police investigate the unfortunate incident to being the culprits to book.
