NDC And NPP Have Failed - Ayariga

The 2012 Presidential Candidate for the People's National Convention (PNC), Mr Hassan Ayariga, has called on residents of Talensi in the Upper East Region to change their voting pattern and vote massively for the party's candidate, Dr Michael Wumbego, in Tuesday's bye-election.

He observed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had over the years failed to provide the kind of leadership the area needed as a catalyst for the accelerated development of the constituency.

Mr Ayariga made the call when he addressed rallies at Sheaga, Duusi, Betie and Kariu in the Talensi Constituency to campaign for Dr Wumbego.

He had early on called on the Tongorana, Kubilsong Nalebiktang Robert Nachinab Doameng Mosore, at his palace at Tongo to introduce Dr Wumbego to him.

Mr Ayariga was of the view that the electorate in Talensi should assess the NDC and the NPP that had over the years occupied the Talensi seat, based on the level of development both parties had brought to the constituency.

He pointed out that the poor state of roads in Sheaga, Duusi and surrounding communities was enough to tell the people that development was not about political parties but "about committed and selfless leadership needed to bring development to the people".

Mr Ayariga further explained to the people that Dr Wumbeogo would provide the kind of leadership the people needed but had lacked over the years, stressing, "Our candidate is a competent man who has served Mother Ghana in so many ways."

He also stated: "Let us look at it this way; the NDC already has the presidency, the NPP also has someone who has now assumed the position of a Tongorana and so we are also to occupy the parliamentary seat for Talensi. Give Dr Wumbego the chance".

Dr Wumbego assured the people that he would provide the kind of leadership they needed to accelerate development in the area.
