NPP Communicator, Nana Boakye has kicked against the payment of ex gratia to former Chief Executive of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Tsatsu Tsikata.

According to Nana Boakye, Mr. Tsikata doesn't deserve to be compensated with any amount for his service at GNPC.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Nana Boakye noted that Mr. Tsikata virtually run GNPC down when he was in office.

But for the timely intervention of the erstwhile Kufour government, GNPC would have become defunct; Nana Boakye added.

“It took the ingenuity and the leadership of President Kufour to redirect the focus of GNPC for the discovery of oil.”

He questioned the logic in the payment of ex gratia to Mr. Tsikata and the other recipients.

“Are we giving it to him for defending the NDC in court? We should give him such whopping sum because he was the Counsel for NDC…What has he done for Ghana? What did he do? The man practically ran GNPC down," Nana Boakye stated.
