New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is set to respond to the 2016 budget statement laid before Parliament by Finance Minister Seth Terkper.
The economist and former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana would address the press at the headquarters of the NPP on Wednesday.
Sources close to Dr Bawumia said the press conference will not only look at the projections in the 2016 budget, but will analyse the 7 year record of the Mills-Mahama governments and their effects on the ordinary Ghanaian.
Dr. Bawumia was in Parliament when the budget was presented and had indicated his readiness to present an 'alternative, far reaching statement' on Ghana's economic future.
The Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government of Ghana for the 2016 Financial year was presented to Parliament on Friday, 13th November, 2015.
