Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Ade Coker has described the declaration by former President John Dramani Mahama to join the flagbearership race as the most important news to hear recently in Ghana.

He said John Mahama’s intention to contest the NDC flagbearership position is the most authentic news to hear in Ghana now.

According to him the former President is the most qualified candidate who will make the NDC triumph over NPP in the next General electons in 2020.

To him, the ill talk from the other potential candidates against Ex-President Mahama is normal, but will cease after the position is voted on and the winner elected.

He asked the other potential contestants not to attack the former President but rather speak on their capabilities, vision and intentions to move the nation forward as that will help keep them on track in their quest to lead the party in the 2020 elections.

Ade Coker speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme indicated that Mahama’s decision was taken per his love for his nation and the listening ears he has for citizens.

As well, he encouraged the other potential candidates in the race not to exit from the race, but rather propagate their messages in the right manner as they make the contest a memorable one for future reference.
