Osafo ‘MacMillan’ Maafo Has Nothing To Lose As Far As Ghana Is Concerned - Lawyer

Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo has been taken to the cleaners by a member of the Communications team of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe, who describes the former as morally unfit to criticize former President John Mahama.

Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, says it was wrong for former President John Mahama to show photos and videos of the violence that rocked the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election to the diplomatic community.

This is unpatriotic and shameful. It is because if he gathered Ghanaians, call it the academia or Ghanaian professionals or Ghanaian businessmen and he talked about matters of concern to him, I’ll have no problem. He’s a former head of state and then for a very important opinion leader but to gather foreigners and try to paint Ghana black is just not acceptable”, the Senior Minister condemned in a short video clip.

Reacting to this publication on Radio Gold’s "Alhaji and Alhaji", Lawyer Tamakloe stressed that the former President only put before the Diplomatic Corps, videos that were already out there in the public domain as the Ex-President entation.

He pointed out that the ex-President did not manufacture any of the videos that were used in the power point presentation.

Thus, Hon. Osafo ‘McMillan’ Maafo, rather acted unpatriotically for his loud silence over the incidence which marred the by-election of Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

Osafo Macmillan Maafo, from the day this event happened has never condemned the violence in Ayawaso West Wuogon; he has never done that from 31st January to the time he responded to John Mahama; he has never condemned it...76 years of age now; he has less to lose as far as Ghana is concerned.”

“So for him to consider an exercise that exposes violence to be unpatriotic, it is rather his conduct that is unpatriotic. Unless Mr. Yaw Osafo-Maafo is telling me that the deployment of armed men by the National Security Council Secretariat is rather an act of patriotism”, he jabbed.

To him, “John Dramani Mahama never painted Ghana black; what he did was to expose the irresponsibility of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. What John Mahama did was to expose the armed thuggery, the armed vigilante groups, those thugs and bandits; if this is unpatriotism, then Osafo Maafo has missed his way”.
