#NDCdecides: Spio, Sly, Bagbin Others Concede Defeat

Dr. Ekwow Spio-Gabrah, Sylvester Mensah, Nurudeen Iddrisu, Alban Bagbin, Prof Joshua Alabi, and Goosie Tanoh have all conceded defeat after losing in the NDC primaries held on Saturday.

All the six candidates have already called former President John Mahama, who emerged the winner of the contest.

Out of about 260,000 delegates that took part in today's primaries, Mahama polled 213,443 votes representing 95.24% according to certified results by the Electoral Commission.

"I called him more than two and a half hours ago and we spoke and I congratulated him," Joshua Alabi indicated.

Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah took to Facebook with this post:

"I have taken note of the provisional results being declared by the Electoral Commission around the country in respect of the NDC Flagbearership race as well as the outstanding performance by former President John Mahama. I wish therefore to congratulate President John Mahama’s performance on this resounding victory and to wish the NDC family a period of renewal, regeneration, and unity leading to victory in 2020. As we prepare collectively towards election 2020, it is my hope that the various campaign teams in this flagbearership contest can become fully integrated into an effective fighting force ahead of the next general elections".
