Parents Admonished To Spare BECE Candidates From Partaking In Household Chores -Educationist

Parents and Guardians in the Eastern Region, New Juaben Municipality to be precise has been urged to find a way to spare their wards who are BECE Candidates from partaking in household chores or activities that will impede their revisions for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE).

Hon. Regina Bempong an educationist, government appointee with the new Juabeng Municipal Assembly who also double as Deputy NPP women organizer for the New Juabeng South Constituency stated that, candidates need enough time to prepare for every exams therefore, will have less attention and concentration for their studies.

She also challenged the pupil not to joke with the exams ahead and urged them to put up their best to qualify for the next academic ladder in life.

Hon. Bempong made this disclosure, when she donated some examination kits such as mathematical sets, pens, etc and some cash as transportation for the candidates to their examination centers in her electoral area.

According to her, the kind gesture is to motivate and encourage the pupil to see examination not as a punishment or something awkward.

"As an educationist, I have realised the frustrations some students go through to even get something like mathematical sets and pen for examination. Therefore, I won’t sit down to look unconcerned as BECE is approaching and still some pupil will be struggling to get these materials for the exams", she said.

The headmistress for the Densuano M/A Basic School, Madam Christiana Takyi, thanked the Deputy women organizer for her kindness as this is the first time a thing of that nature has happened in the school. She also requested that, they will need some computers as the school of over 300 pupils struggles with only two computers which are even nonfunctional.

"It is always a headache whenever pupils are over crowded in the computer room sharing only two computers" Madam Takyi revealed.

The headmistress also called on Government to help fence their school as encroachers are always disturbing them.
