Limited Voters' Registration: EC Targets 700,000 Prospective Voters

The Electoral Commission [EC] is positive its 21-day timeline for the limited voters’ registration exercise will capture all unregistered prospective voters despite some setbacks.

EC’s Dr. Serebou Quaicoo who was speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ said they hope to cover majority of the electorates.

“We are expecting like 700,000 prospective voters,” he said.

The Electoral Commission announced for the information of the general public that the Limited Voters' Registration Exercise will now take place from "Monday, 17th June, 2019 to Sunday 7th July, 2019."

This follows the dismissal of a motion for interlocutory injunction seeking to restrain the Commission from undertaking the scheduled exercise.

The registration will take place in all District Offices of the Commission and designated Electoral Areas/centres throughout the country.

Registration will start from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on each day, and will include weekends.
