Otumfuo's Asamponhene Murder: "We Are Not Ruling Out Contract Killing" – A/R Police Command

The Ashanti Regional Police command says they are not ruling out contract killing over the murder of Otumfuo's Asamponhene, Nana Kwadwo Afoduo.

According to them, though they have initiated investigations, they believe that the murder was premeditated.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' program Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police command, ASP Godwin Ahianyo explained that investigations have commenced into the murder to unravel the plot behind it.

"We are not ruling out contract killing for now," he said.

"Members of the public who have vital information about the murder should contact the Ashanti Police command," he pleaded.

He however assured  that the perpetrators will definitely be arrested.

He however, warned the public about how they transact their businesses, adding that they should keep their trusted relatives informed about what they do so that their traits will be known for their own safety.

Nana Kwadwo Afoduo’s body was found at the backseat of his Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle at Ebuom on the Ejura-Nkoranza Highway on Sunday evening with multiple stab wounds.

But for some church members who were returning from a convention, the body of the 46-year-old chief would have been burnt beyond recognition.

With the help of other motorists, the church members managed to extinguish the fire and raised an alarm before the police got to the scene.
