It has now been revealed that President Mahamas vision to implement the progressively free Senior High Secondary education program is ready to take off.

This revelation was made by the Finance minister, Seth Terkper in his 2015 budget presentation to Parliament on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.

According to him, government has finally secured funding for one hundred and twenty three (123) out of the promised two hundred (200) SHS to be constructed. Out of the 123 schools, he pointed out that fifty of them are at completion stages.

We remain very confident of meeting the target by 2016 and this is in line with the prudent fiscal policy of ensuring that all major capital projects would be fully funded, he stated. In the budget the minister read, he noted that the agreed road map which is to begin with day students has been adequately catered for.
