Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited in a bid to provide a one-stop-shop for customers and the general public has reached an agreement with British Airways to collect payments for its e-ticket reservations.

The service, which has already started across the Banks branches nationwide, thus creates a partnership of convenience for both GTBank and British Airways (BA) customers. This means that individuals, groups or businesses that make their British Airways bookings online or via telephone can now pay at any GTBank branch near them.

Benefits of this arrangement include instant notification via secured and predetermined email channels to designated British Airways staff when a ticket payment is made to secure the reservation.

The service is aimed at increasing customer satisfaction as payments can be made at convenient locations where the traditional GTBank prompt service is enjoyed. Passengers do not have to carry large sums of money over long distances to make payments for tickets.

Commenting on this arrangement, the General Manager of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Mr. Jamiu Yusuff, stated that: Our delight with this partnership with British Airways is that it comes to augment the plethora of services already rendered at any GTBank branch, thus creating additional convenience for our customers and other patrons.

We are particularly delighted that through the use of our robust and secure IT infrastructure, we are providing such an important and useful service to British Airways, he added.

Also speaking on the partnership with GTBank, the Country Representative of British Airways in Ghana, Mr. Richard Odei-Wontumi, expressed his satisfaction and delight with the potential of creating further convenience for their customers.

He stated: British Airways is a special airline because of our people, expertise, heritage and partnerships. We are continuously investing in our product and service offerings, and are extremely pleased to team up with GTBank on this service that will make the lives of our customers easier.

For some years now, our customers have been able to fully control their flights and travel bookings and our services are even closer to them with this new partnership with GTBank, he added.

Aside from the British Airways e-ticket payments, GTBank offers the following services in all branches nationwide: Ghana Water Company and ECG bill payments; collections for VFS Global Visa fees; and American Airline ticket payments.

Since inception in 2006, the Bank has ensured that it provides the utmost in customer satisfaction through the provision of convenient products and services such as the above. Presently, it has 22 branches spread across the length and breadth of Ghana and employs over 500 Ghanaians to champion its delivery of superior customer service.

During its relatively brief years of operations in the country, it has been named as Bank of the Year in 2009 and 2010, and emerged Best Bank in several key awards categories.

The Bank had also been named by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as the Most Market Responsive Global Trade Finance Programme (GTFP) Issuing Bank in Africa for 2010. It is presently ranked as the 7th Most Prestigious Company in Ghana on the Ghana Investment Promotions Centres Club 100 List and the Fastest Growing Company in Ghana in 2010.
