As part of plans to expand its electronic banking options, Prudential Bank Limited (PBL) has introduced a new Internet banking service dubbed “netWise Banking”.

netWise Banking allows the customer to do transactions and services which hitherto required one to be physically present in the banking hall.

Some of the transactions include internal fund transfers within one’s account at PBL; fund transfers to a third-party account at PBL; establishing standing instructions; and bulk payment of employees’ salaries.

Other services include viewing account details and balances, requesting cheque-books, cheque leaflet status enquiries, request for reset of PIN, cancellation of cheque payments and many more.

netWise joins the bank’s growing portfolio of electronic banking products and services that include cashWise (ATM); textWise (SMS Banking); posWise (Point of Sales); and alertWise (Transaction Alert Services).

Deputy Managing Director in charge of Finance and Credit Administration, Joseph Okine-Afrane, said the move is part of the bank’s strategy to modernise its traditional banking services and enhance customer satisfaction.

“netWise is aimed at providing customers with easy and convenient accessibility to their accounts throughout the week, via a secure Internet link from anywhere. All that customers require to benefit from the service is Internet availability,” he said.

He added that the service is available in all the bank’s 31 branches and agencies across the country.

“We at Prudential Bank believe that provision of these electronic banking products and services will go a long way to provide expedient, timely and convenient services to both our present customers and potential ones.”

Head of the Internet Banking Unit Eric Taylor walked customers through the process of registration and transaction of business on the platform.

The first step is for a customer to have either a current or savings account with the bank. A customer can then complete an internet banking application form from any PBL branch or online. When the application is accepted, the customer will be notified by email and directed to pick up log-in and transaction passwords from the branch.
