The bank of Ghana will on Thursday issue a 5 year bond. The GH¢ 600 million bonds will be used to restructure the country’s debts and roll over maturing debts.
The move is in furtherance with Bank of Ghana issuance Calendar for Government of Ghana securities for the half-year period between first July and December this year.
The instrument which will be Ghana Cedi-denominated will be issued at par and will be opened to both local and foreign investors.
The bond which will be listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange for secondary market trading, both at the floor of the Exchange or over the counter will be redeemed by the issuer on the 24th of September, 2018 which is the maturity date.
The central bank this year alone has issued over five bonds including 3 and 5 year.
It also recently issued the country’s first seven year bond. All the bonds have so far been heavily subscribed by investors.
