Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited, has presented GHȼ10,000.00 to Nneka (Mother Supreme) Youth Foundation (NYF), a Ve-Agbome-based not-for-profit entity inclined to youth empowerment at its headquarters in the Afadzato South District.

Other items include branded T-Shirts and caps, exercise books and pens, which is intended to support the annual summer youth camp of about 3,000 junior high school (JHS) students in Hohoe, Kpando, Afadzato South, North and South Dayi in the Volta Region.

Mr Patrick Asiamah, Human Resource Business Partner of the Bank presenting the items said the gesture is a corporate social responsibility, which is in tandem with the vision, mission and core values of the NYF.

He said the bank’s support started in 2012 with the future showing more prospects between the two institutions as their shared values touches on equipping the youth with life-changing and game-changing ideals.

Mrs Cecilia Fiaka, Founder of NYF said her outfit is providing the platform and equipping rural teenagers with critical mindsets to question the status quo and to become stewards of national change and growth.

She said growing up as teenagers especially the girl-child in rural Ghana is fraught with major insecurity-based challenges including pregnancy, drug abuse, peer pressure, lack of guidance and couselling and economic difficulties.

Mrs Fiaka said these ignited a passion for the setting up of the NGO to leverage the life-threatening issues to bridge the rural-urban gap for rapid socio-economic development.

She thanked Stanbic Bank especially and other entities for their collective assistance and appealed to other financial institutions and the telecommunication companies for collaboration.

The founder said more than 7,000 JHS students have benefited from the summer camp since its inception with overwhelming success stories unfolding.
