A total of 1.8 billion old cedis has been invested to support farmers engaged in Rice Farming at the Dorwenya Rice Project in Ga Dangbe West in the Greater Accra Region by IF ďż˝ Foundation (an NGO).
Mr. Isaiah Amissah country Director of IF ďż˝ Foundation and Co-ordinator for Africa made this known in an interview with Peace FM. According to Mr. Amissah as a result of the 1.8 billion old cedis investment, many rice farmers in Dorwenya have got access to combined harvesters, power tillers, water pumping machines and start-up capital for rice farming. Mr. Amissah said the IF ďż˝ Foundation is also embarking on a hundred ďż˝ hectre Oil Palm Plantation to create jobs for the people of Odobin in the central Region.
He said a number of physically challenged persons in Odumasi are also being supported with skills to generate income.
