Staff of the National Investment Bank Limited have donated a refrigerator worth more than GH¢1,000.00 to the Princess Marie Louise Hospital in Accra.

Speaking at the event, Mr. J. N. Halm, the Head of the Bank’s Customer Service and Public Relations Department stated that, sometime last year, the Bank received a letter from the Skyy Media that Management of the Hospital was appealing for support for the purchase of various items

Mr. Halm added that the purchase of the state-of-the-art Panasonic double door refrigerator was made possible with funds collected from staff during the Bank’s 2011 Thanksgiving Service. He stated that though the appeal came at the time when the Department’s sponsorship budget had been exhausted, staff of the Bank still felt a need to help the Children’s Hospital.

Present at the event were Madam Margaret Okine, the matron of the Hospital and Madam Sylvia Aikins, a nursing officer at the Hospital. Receiving the refrigerator on behalf of the Hospital, Madam Okine expressed her gratitude to National Investment Bank Limited for the speedy response to the Hospital request.

She remarked that the Children’s Hospital was in need of essential amenities to enable it perform its duties of seeing to the health needs of children in the country. She further promised that the refrigerator will be used for the purpose of storing leftover drugs and other medical supplies.

Speaking to the Press after the ceremony, Mr. Halm called on other corporate bodies to heed to such calls by recognised public institutions. He congratulated the Skyy Media Group for bringing the plight of the Hospital to the Bank’s attention and called on other media houses to emulate the example.
