Eleven Executive Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) will pay a six-day visit to Ghana to review projects and programmes funded by the Bank.
The directors, who will be in the country from March 3-9, 2012, will also hold talks with the Ghanaian government as part of its annual Africa-wide programme.
"On the trip, the delegation will look at five AfDB projects of special interest and importance that are also representative of the Bank's overall strategy. They are the Ghana-Togo-Benin Power Interconnection Project; the Nsawam By-pass Road Infrastructure Project, the Export Marketing and Quality Awareness Programme, the Kpong Irrigation Scheme, and the Senior Secondary School Education Project in the Eastern and Greater Accra regions,� a statement from the AfDB March 2, 2012 read.
AfDB"s Resident Representative in Ghana, Mrs. Marie-Laure Akin-Olugbade, who also confirmed the delegation�s visit to ghanabusinessnews.com on phone, said the directors will commission the Akatsi Road Project funded by the Bank.
The delegation will also meet with development partners and representatives from the private sector and civil society to discuss various issues related to development assistance and its effectiveness, the statement noted.
