Macro Group, an indigenous Ghanaian shipping company and its allies, has been handed the world's most prestigious Business Initiative Directions (BID) awards for its outstanding commitments to quality and excellence in the area of customer satisfaction, leadership, and technology.
The award was handed to the company at a grand ceremony in Paris, which included the Quality Commitment Award in the gold category.
A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency by Macro Group, quoted the BID President and Chief Executive Officer, Jose E. Prieto, as saying; “commitment to quality was one of the core requirements for winning a BID award and Macro had demonstrated that kind of commitment to merit this award.”
He praised Macro Group for endearing itself to quality and for winning such a prestigious award adding that good successes must be celebrated.
Mr. Kwame Macafui, the Group Managing Director pointed out that this BID Gold Award represents the successes of Macro Group in the past, as well as its future goals and therefore promised of Macro’s avowed commitment to customer service satisfaction.
Macro Group has a total strength of 136 comprising 81 Permanent staff and 55 non permanent staff.
Mr. Macafui added that the Group strived to excel every day in quality and thereby creating a competitive edge, “for this reason we were awarded the prestigious Quality Commitment Award; a trophy which BID presents to companies from around the world”.
The Group Director added that the company would continue to stand for high quality services and innovative practices, putting excellence first at all level of the organization’s operations.
The group comprises Macro Shipping Ltd, Macro Logistics Ltd, Macro Trucking Ltd, Macro Terminals Ltd which together offered global logistics services, project cargo, conventional & break-bulk and containerized cargo for companies within the extractive sector.
Mr. Macafui added that the Group provided competitive integrated Supply Chain Management Solutions to individuals, SME’s and leading companies in Ghana and all over the world through strategic partnerships such as Multimodal Transport Group (MTG) & Worldwide Partners Alliance (WPA) all of which MACRO Group is a member.
Macro Group is managed by a team of experts with several years of experience in ship broking practice, ship agency and Total logistics solutions to specific clients’ needs and requirements.
The Group MD was emphatic that, Macro’s focus is to ensure that logistics
was made simpler and every aspect of its business services was committed to quality in its quest to offer a wide range of supply chain consulting, logistics services, freight forwarding services and management systems that focuses on staff wellbeing through pragmatic policies in Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental, HR policy interventions to ensure high staff performances.
“We have an effective and economical ways to manage and implement programs that optimizes the supply chain of clients and covers areas such as customs brokerage, import clearance/deliveries and that is what separates us from the rest of our industrial players,” he affirmed.
The MD intimated that it about time indigenous companies were supported through policies designed to provide vigorous local content support adding that Macro Group is ready to take up the challenge of continuous improvement in its service delivery and strive for excellence in quality service.
