Man Capital Ltd, a microfinance and investment company has been adjudged the Best Non-Bank Finance House of the year at the third edition of the Business Executive Excellence Awards.
26 individuals, enterprises and institutions were conferred with awards for various categories of business excellence at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra, where the event took place.
This year’s ceremony was on the theme: “Recognizing Resilience and Creativity in Business Operations”.
The Business Excellence Awards was conceptualized in 2014 to publicly recognize companies, enterprises and other institutions in Ghana, whose corporate conduct, performances and achievements are exemplary and impacted significantly to Ghana’s economic growth.
A citation accompanying the award read:
Within five years of your establishment you have spawned three subsidiaries; Man Capital Microfinance, Man Capital Logistics and Man Capital Partners.
Between them, you have provided huge support for micro and small sized enterprises, including petty traders and artisans who hitherto were excluded from formal financial intermediation, and have provided lots of jobs for young commercial drivers whom you have empowered to operate on work and pay basis.
You have also shown good commitment to corporate social responsibility by supporting young people with school fees payments and churches with financial support for their evangelism activities.
Receiving the award on behalf of the company, Chief Operating Officer of Man Capital, Alex Nyanteh expressed his excitement.
According to him, despite the challenges facing the Non-Bank financial sector in the country, Man Capital was able to surmount them which he described came about as a result of prudent management.
“For the past 5 years, Man Capital has been committed to building and fuelling the Capital engine of SMEs, Micro-businesses and our valuable customers in Ghana...we are looking forward to many more years of affording our customers the opportunity to expand their businesses and experience Man Capital award-winning products and services,” he added.
