Six years after Euroget De-Invest, an Egyptian company, entered into several contracts with the government of Ghana to build and deliver 9 hospitals Ghanaians are yet to see any serious advancement towards the delivery of the hospitals.
In 2008, Euroget was awarded the construction of nine hospitals for both the Ministries of Health and Defence.
In February of this year Euroget announced the appointment of M. Barbisotti & Sons to undertake the construction of a 500 bed Military Hospital in Kumasi. The sod-cutting was initially scheduled to be on the 20th March, 2014. The ceremony however has been postponed three times with no good reason.
News reaching us is that contractors for 5 of the hospitals have not yet been appointed after all this time and even the work on the Wa and Salaga hospitals which were to have been concluded in 2014 are nowhere near completion
So the question where are the hospitals and what has happened to the contracts.
