I have become aware of a statement purportedly issued on behalf of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) by its National Organiser, Kofi Adams in which he jumped on the moral high grounds in pointing fingers at President Addo-D in the FIFA/Kwesi Nyantakyi saga.
First of all, FIFA regulations are not Ghana’s Criminal Code and Ghana’s Criminal Code provisions are NOT FIFA ‬regulations. Kwesi Nyantakyi may have committed some moral wrongs in the eyes of FIFA but there is no concrete evidence of criminal culpability on the part of Mr Nyantakyi according to our laws and the Attorney General has rightly put the matter to rest.
No matter how you feel about a case,if you do not have relevant evidence, your multitude of suspicions and your conviction that crime has been committed, cannot and will not amount to proof of actual commission of crime.
Secondly, if there's anyone with moral authority to talk about corruption, it cannot be Kofi Adams.
This is a man who was caught on tape during the FONKAR/GAMES negotiating his way out and selling the NDC for personal gains.
This tape recording actually became an issue which led to his suspension from the NDC.
Then again, his FONKAR mates are on record to have accused him of using FONKAR to amass wealth and collecting corrupt money from individuals and organisations. This is the same guy accused of using the name of President Rawlings in dubious ways when he served as his spokesperson.
Kofi Adams should come out and tell the good people of Ghana how he managed to build 3 different mansions on 4-acre lands at different locations in Golf City - Tema as a mere deputy General Secretary of the NDC.
Can he also account for the numerous expensive cars and monies that were found in his house after the NDC lost the 2016 elections?
This is the man accusing President Akufo-Addo of corruption in the Nyantakyi saga?
We cannot allow ourselves as a society to be victimized by the unbridled folly and corruption of the likes of Kofi Adams and then watch him turn around to accuse others of the same.
Like criminal entrepreneurs, the likes of Kofi Adams and John Mahama have perverted the values of good politics. They have bought the soul of the hungry public whom they constantly perceive as an army of fools, on whose back they can ride their way to power.
Let it be known to Kofi Adams and his boss Mahama that Ghanaians know better.
Finally, I would like Kofi Adams to channel his expertise into how best he clean his corrupt image and then he can begins to talk about corruption.
I shall be back
