In recent time Ghana's name at the international level is gradually sinking since the inception of the Airbus corruption saga.
Airbus an Europe's largest multinational plane manufacturing company confessed to a high court in London of paying bribes to some countries in order to secure contracts which Ghana is part of such countries.
Airbus started dealing with Ghana between 2009 and 2015, and Airbus confirmed in court that, during those years they were dealing with a high ranking elected government official who played a key role in the transactions. On the 3rd of August 2011 government of Ghana and Airbus Company signed an agreement to purchase military aircrafts (C-295) that was when money started exchanging hands for contracts.
Upon the arrival of the C-295 aircraft, it was ex President Mahama who commissioned the aircraft to the Ghana Armed Forces, and during the commissioning Ex President Mahama was the then commander in chief of the Ghana Armed Forces and during initial stage (2009) of the transaction Ex President Mahama was the chairman of the Armed Forces Council and a key decision maker too. All these negotiations passed through his office per the positions he held and there are so much questions that the ex President needs to answer to Ghanaians, because if he is not involve then he may know the person (OFFICIAL 1) per the role he played.
Ghana has undergone much shame at the Apex level because of the personality involved (Government Official One) as described by the UK court of Justice. Now I can say there are signs of relive to some Ghanaians because the president has ordered the Special Prosecutor to investigate and bring the perpetrators to book but the sad thing is that Mahama's government has given Ghana a big scar at the international level.

It's a bit funny when right thinking people say Ghana did not lose any money. All bribes paid in any business transaction is added or has been added to the price paid by the buyer. So Ghana paid more than we were supposed to pay.
If anyone's money is lost he should tell Ghanaians. The whole issue is so funny, they keep talking about bribes when they haven't established that Ghana has lost one kesiwa, for which someone must be investigated. Barwumia spend millions of dollars on free GPS system, where Ghana has lost money and you haven't investigated it but so called Airbus that no financial loss to the state has been incurred you think you can use it for political gains. Maybe you will invite your mother to come and answer questions on Airbus because her name was mentioned. Nppfo na gimi! Ekow Ewusi has now mentioned nana addo and barwumia's names as the one's receiving kickbacks for the sale of the lost excavators, deal with that. Shameful people, you say you are fighting galamsey not knowing the president was looking for money by selling poor people's excavators to support his reelection campaign. Can you imagine this!
As usual, we the rented NPP surrogates trying hard to incriminate JDM based on conjectures, innuendos, assumptions and lies which bear no facts from the court ruling. All they dream daily is John Mahama because their incompetent and failed ton god, Nana Addo and the NPP have seen defeat staring them in the face, come December 2020. This so called scandal does not indicate any government official paying or taking money: it is all about monies paid in excess of industry allowable commission to the tune of 850,000 euros, which breach industry fair play rules. The court mentioned names in the cade of other countries but did not do that in the cade of Ghana because it was obvious that no official of state benefited wrongly. By the way, why are all these people shouting and writing all over the place silent over the numerous corruption scandals that have direct impact on the people and the economy of Ghana? And now we have the almighty vanishing 500 excavators, 400 tricycles and 700 motorbikes. The mates is the SSNIT/OBOTAN scandal in which Ofori Attah, Kelli Gadzekpo and their friends and families, through deceit, fraudulently duped SSNIT, and for that matter the state of huge sums of money in the year 2000. The forensic report' is now out there and we expect the president to SCT on it and prosecute the fraudsters. Isn't it ironic that today we have a fraudster handling our national kitty as finance minister, and these good see nothing wrong. No wonder this same Ken was the mastermind of the famous $2.25 billion Kenbond, the matter if which will be resurrected at the appropriate time. Shame on the ethnocentric and tribal political commentators and journalists who have no love for country. but tribe and party.
