The Minority in Parliament, with the benefit of hindsight, came to the realization that Ghanaians would skin them alive if they took part in the debate over President Akufo-Addo's State of the Nation's Address last week after they had boycotted the event, much to the chagrin of many Ghanaians.

They remained largely silent in the course of the debate on the floor of the house.

Barely a few minutes after their stone-cold silence the Minority left the house to read what they termed as their version of the true state of the nation address.

Speaker after speaker reincarnated the very same litany of propagandistic, massaged and fabricated songs they have been humming since January 7, 2017.

On the economy, Isaac Adongo, as usual, bandied figures about, downgraded the President's message of the SoNA and finally settled on Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

One could see that Adongo has an inflated or exaggerated view of his importance. What was quite obvious was that Isaac Adongo was being held captive by some grandiose delusions lurking in some darkened corner.

Very typical of him, he went attacking Dr. Bawumia, challenging him to a duel on matters relating to economic management.

What might have eluded Isaac Adongo was the fact that Dr. Gideon Boako, the young, astute economist who doubles as the spokesperson for the Vice President made a mincemeat of he Adongo on Citi TV's Point of View programme in the course of 2019.

Dr. Boako reduced Adongo into a rubble. Adongo panted for breath when Dr. Boako took his named figures, ripped them apart and supplied the accurate data. Adongo decided there and then never to attend any show with Dr. Boako as his co-panelist and it has remained so since that time.

Moreover, Dr. Bawumia didn't blaze the trail throwing challenges out there to combat anyone in the ring. He took the battle to the powers that be, used superior facts and figures, went around the country and punched same into the ears and minds of discerning Ghanaians, and the results are known to the world.

If Adongo believes he has such an appeal, he should tour the entire country and sell to Ghanaians what he says are his facts and figures.

He should go and pick a fight with his classmates, not Bawumia, for Mahamudu Bawumia is millions of miles ahead of him or anyone else in the opposition party.

If he doubts this fact, he should ask John Mahama why it has taken him forever to select his running mate. Bawumia is simply unmatched in his field.
