Kumbungu is a constituency in the Northern Region of Ghana and it’s considered a stronghold for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The opposition NDC has held on to power in the constituency for years. They continuously take the lead in both presidential and parliamentary vote count in this constituency per data compared from 1996 to 2016; often with a huge margin
The incumbent Member of Parliament is Ras Mubarak. His bid to seek reelection however failed as he was floored during the NDC parliamentary primaries.
The new NDC candidate is therefore Dr. Hamza Adam.
He will be locking horns with Abdul Salaam Hamza Fatawu, candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7 election.
