Wa Central constituency is located in the Upper West Region of Ghana and it’s considered a stronghold for the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
The opposition NDC has held on to power in the constituency for years as efforts for the NPP to take over have proved futile.
The NDC has continuously won this seat in the past six elections: 1996 – 2016
The incumbent Member of Parliament is Rashid Pelpuo of the NDC and he’s been on the seat since 2004 December after winning the parliamentary election
Rashid Pelpuo who is seeking reelection will lock horns with Hajia Humu Awudu of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Even though some might describe it as ‘mission impossible’ Hajia Awudu is hopeful of becoming the first candidate in her party to win this seat.
