A Police officer was shot and severely injured by suspected armed robbers Wednesday during a robbery attack on the Allied Oil filling station in Ho in the Volta region, it has been reported.
According to Accra-based radio station, Starr FM, the incident has heightened fear and anxiety among residents of the area.
One resident told the radio station that people was gradually losing confidence in the ability of the Police to protect them from criminals.
“It’s so scary to live in Ho municipality these days, just few days ago, there were about five robberies that happened, even the worst case is that; when they steal these things, they don’t leave you alone, they inflict cutlass wounds on you,” he was quoted as saying.
