A swoop by the Madina Divisional Police on Tuesday, led to the arrest of 28 suspected criminals for allegedly dealing in narcotics and other criminal offences.
The exercise took place at the Madina Ritz Junction and the Madina Market area, where the suspects were operating, dealing in narcotics and also harassing residents.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Charles Domanban, Madina Divisional Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency in Accra that, 60 wrappers of leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and six mobile phones were retrieved during a search.
He said the suspects were currently undergoing screening after which those found culpable would be prosecuted.
ACP Domanban assured the residents that the police would make the community, a safe place to live and called for their assistance.
