The Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has taken delivery of 4.809,004 free school books to be distributed to school children from the Junior High Schools (JHS) right down to Class One, an initiative instituted by the government.
Delivering a speech prior to the presentation, the Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, stated that the government promised to assist and make education affordable for all school-going child in the country.
According to him, the delivery of the books demonstrates and brings to fulfillment the promise made by the government, and her willingness to promote sound education in the country.

The Regional Director of education, Mrs. Rene Owusu Boakye Boateng, on behalf of the beneficiary children, heaped her profound gratitude to the government for the gesture, and sense of commitment towards the development of education in the country. She also took advantage of the occasion to appeal to parents to support the government in her bid to attaining sound education.
